About Us

Who are we?

We are Spirit Holiday Rentals Ltd., a small UK-based business specialising in independent apartment rental and ski hire services for Borovets and Bansko. Over the past 2 years, we have found an increasing number of people interested solely in arranging ski or snowboard hire packages - so we created this website to serve that specific market.

How long have you been involved with Borovets ski hire?

The 2008/9 season will be our third season in Borovets.

Ski Packages

What is the difference between the "Big" and "Small" ski packages?

The Big Ski Package includes full equipment hire (skis, poles and boots), but the Small Ski Package does not. The 2 packages are the same in all other respects.

Do you provide Beginners/Intermediate/Expert group tuition?

Yes - all participants of group tuition are initially assessed by Borosport instructors and placed in a group appropriate to their skills.

Do you provide private group tuition, or 1-on-1 tuition?

We do not provide these services at the current time.

Ski/Snowboard Equipment Hire

Who provides the hire equipment?

Borosport supply all our lift passes, equipment hire and group tuition. Borosport are the premier ski school in the resort; their equipment stock is updated every year, so most kit is either new or nearly new, and all their instructors speak English.

Where is your ski hire depot in Borovets?

Equipment is collected from a hire shop inside the Rila Hotel. The equipment is then stored in the depot overnight and collected again the following morning.

What do I do if I have a complaint about my hire equipment?

See a Borosport representative immediately. If they are unable to assist you, please contact our representative in the resort (contact details will be supplied on the voucher we send you).

What happens if I lose or damage some hire equipment, or it gets stolen?

You are entirely responsible for the equipment while it is hired out to you. Therefore if it is misplaced or damaged Borosport will request financial compensation from you to recover/replace/repair the affected equipment. We recommend you take out sufficient insurance before travelling.

Children

Do you provide any facilities for children aged under 7

We regret that equipment hire, lift passes, and ski/snowboard school are not available to children under 7. However a kindergarten is available in the Rila Hotel - it can't be pre-booked but they guarantee availability when you book on the day. The kindergarten provides some basic skiing lessons for your children, usually around an hour per day on the nursery slopes near the hotel.

Booking

When can/should I book?

You must book no later than 28 days before your first day of skiing - we regret we cannot take orders later than this, and the website just won't let you. You can book as early as you like, although there is usually a period between the end of one season and the release of prices for the next season where we probably won't be able to take your order, but the website will tell you about this at the time.

What is the booking process?
  1. Go to our Home Page and choose a start date for your ski hire.
  2. On the next page displayed, select your ski hire items and calculate your quote. If you are ready to order, you can continue with the ordering process.
  3. The next page requests the details of your party. You need the names, shoe sizes and heights of everyone that you are ordering hire equipment for, so have these ready in advance!
  4. The next page requests some contact details while you are in the resort. This information is used by the ski club in case they need to contact you for any reason.
  5. The next page details our terms and conditions, which must be accepted in order to continue with your booking.
  6. The next page details your order, and from there you can continue on to Google Checkout to make your payment.
  7. If you have not already registered with Google Checkout, you will need to do so now - but don't worry as the process is quick and easy.
  8. Log in to Google Checkout and use your credit/debit card to pay.
  9. Google Checkout then sends you an email confirming your payment.
  10. Within 24 hours we send you an email containing a confirmation invoice which details your order.
  11. Approximately 2 weeks before your ski hire date, we email you the vouchers required to redeem your services in the resort, and instructions about what to do when you get to Borovets.
Is it safe paying online?

We use Google Checkout to process your payment. This is a completely independent payment system so Spirit Holiday Rentals Ltd. never have access to your credit/debit card details. If you follow the instructions provided by Google your details will be as safe as any online payment can be.

Do you store my personal details?

We don't have access to any of your payment details, and we don't need to store your email address or postal address. This information is stored securely by Google Checkout, which we access when necessary to process your order.
